October is Archives Month, a nationwide celebration of history.
The Arnold and Mabel Beckman Foundation is celebrating Archives Month in October with a poster designed to share about Beckman history through the theme of Engagement & Connection.
Our poster features four images from the Beckman Foundation Collection that explore Dr. and Mrs. Beckman’s civic, academic, professional, personal, and philanthropic connections spanning the 1950s to 1980s. Each image has a corresponding caption that provides context and descriptive notes.
In 2006, October was designated as California’s Archives Month by then-Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger as part of a nationwide, month-long celebration in which archives and archivists share history and their collections with patrons. It coincides with American Archives Month, established by the Society of American Archivists.
