Five Questions with Margaret Byron, PhD
Dr. Margaret L. Byron is a 2021 Beckman Young Investigator (BYI) at Pennsylvania State University whose work focuses on “fluid dynamics of flexibility: deformable bio-structures for locomotion and sensing in complex flows.”
When Margaret’s research led to a 3-week trip to conduct fieldwork in the San Juan Islands, Beckman Foundation approved use of BYI funds that enabled her to bring along her twin 4-year-olds and to provide them with childcare during their stay. In this “5 Questions” interview, we asked Margaret to share the experience.
